Moana brings a young Simea to the Cavern of the Ancestors, a sacred place where Moana learned about her heritage as a voyager. Moana shares the history of her people and her personal journey, revealing her new mission to continue the work of an ancient navigator.

Moana experiences a vivid vision where she encounters her ancestor, Tautai Vasa, on an ancient voyaging canoe. He warns her of a desolate future for her people if she fails to reconnect them and find the lost island of Motufetū, leaving her with a cryptic clue.
