    The Box of Chocolates Monologue

    The X-files

    by Glen Morgan, James Wong

The Cigarette Smoking Man delivers a cynical, nihilistic subversion of a famous cinematic trope while reflecting on the emptiness of human existence. He uses the metaphor of a box of chocolates to describe life as a series of disappointing, disposable experiences that leave one with nothing but 'useless brown paper wrappers.'
