Louis C.K

Vanessa, a blunt waitress at a comedy club, aggressively flirts with Louie and challenges his hesitation when she asks him out on a date.

Vanessa recounts the burden of a deathbed promise she made to her father to keep his failing hardware store open. She describes the struggle of competing with corporate giants and the eventual liberation she felt when she finally closed the shop to pursue law school.

Vanessa confronts Louie about the double standards of dating as an overweight woman, challenging him to hold her hand in public.
