Sonic chases Shadow through a city, engaging in a high-speed battle that involves dodging attacks, teleportation, and daring maneuvers. The scene culminates in a powerful clash between the two hedgehogs, resulting in a city-wide blackout and Sonic's capture.

Sonic takes Tom to his old cave, where they discover a drawing Sonic made of himself and Longclaw. Sonic expresses his lingering sadness and wonders if Longclaw would be proud of him, leading Tom to offer comforting words about making choices and listening to his heart.
