The MacManus brothers recount a chaotic hit on a Russian mob suite where a disagreement over a coil of rope leads to an accidental ceiling collapse. After executing the criminals and performing a religious ritual, they terrify a low-level delivery man named Rocco, only to reveal their identities as his friends.

In a surreal dream sequence at Fenway Park, the deceased Rocco appears to the MacManus brothers to restore their wavering spirits. Using the Red Sox and early explorers as metaphors, he challenges them to reclaim the power of faith before they embark on their next mission.

FBI Agent Paul Smecker deconstructs a complex crime scene while belittling the local Boston detectives. Through a series of rapid-fire deductions, he proves that the execution was carried out by two highly skilled shooters with specific ritualistic intent.
