Maverick pushes the experimental Darkstar jet to its absolute limits, attempting to reach Mach 10 despite orders from Admiral Cain to land. The mission control team watches in awe and terror as Maverick defies authority and risks everything to prove the jet's capabilities.
Maverick prepares for a high-stakes test flight in the experimental Darkstar aircraft. He goes through pre-flight checks with Hondo, who tries to dissuade him from the dangerous mission. Maverick ultimately commits to the flight, pushing the throttle forward.
