In a high-stakes interrogation, Klein attempts to negotiate his freedom by offering up evidence of deep-seated LAPD corruption to federal investigator Welles Noonan. Despite the mutual animosity and threats of life imprisonment, Klein manages to bait Noonan into a temporary alliance, unaware that Noonan intends to betray the agreement as soon as the evidence is delivered.
