Cobb Scenes

Dom Cobb visits his father-in-law, Professor Miles, seeking a new architect for a high-stakes job that could finally allow him to return home to his children. The scene explores Cobb's desperation, the ethical weight of 'dream-sharing', and the tragic shadow of his late wife, Mal.

Cobb and Arthur attempt to pitch their services as 'extractors' to the wealthy businessman Saito. Cobb uses a metaphor about the resilience of ideas to convince Saito that his subconscious secrets are vulnerable and require specialized protection.

Cobb explains the dire consequences of dying within the dream layers to Ariadne while a wounded Saito listens. The scene establishes the high stakes of their mission, revealing that failure leads to a lifetime trapped in a subconscious void known as Limbo.
