Amos tries to pay Billy Flynn for his wife Roxie's defense, but falls far short of the demanded five thousand dollars. Billy, with the help of his assistant Tamia, manipulates Amos into agreeing to a scheme to raise the remaining funds by exploiting Roxie's newfound notoriety.
