Katharine, prompted by Almásy, recounts the ancient Greek story of King Candaules, his beautiful wife, and the warrior Gyges. The tale, which involves betrayal and a power shift, creates an uncomfortable tension between Katharine and Almásy, reflecting their own complex relationship.
