Nancy attempts to end her long-term relationship with Tony, who reacts with defensive insults and dramatic literary references.

A young man named Tony attempts to convince a skeptical restaurant owner to hire him by boasting about his culinary pedigree and French heritage. He recounts a bittersweet childhood memory of waiting in a hot car while his parents dined at a world-class restaurant, using it as proof of his 'osmotic' understanding of haute cuisine.

Tony excitedly shares his plans to surprise Nancy while launching into a high-energy, cynical rant about the true history of the Pilgrims in Provincetown. He expresses his rebellious worldview, comparing his relationship to famous outlaws and dismissing traditional American history as a fabrication.
