Nick, a man who has lost his job and been locked out of his home by his wife, has moved his belongings onto the front lawn in a state of alcoholic defiance. His friend Frank, a police officer, attempts to de-escalate the situation and convince Nick to leave, but Nick uses the philosophy of Sun Tzu to justify his refusal to retreat from his 'corner.'

Samantha attempts to offer help and sympathy to Nick, a man struggling with a traumatic brain injury and isolation. The scene takes a dark turn when Nick retaliates by brutally deconstructing the failures of Samantha's marriage and her personal life, leading to a volatile emotional confrontation.

Nick confesses the details of his relapse and the subsequent legal accusation to his neighbor Samantha. He struggles to reconcile his identity as an alcoholic with the specific nature of the allegations, seeking a sense of understanding or absolution.
