What can I read and use for free?

You can search the library, check the characters and source, and read each available opening preview without a subscription. Create a free account when you want to save scenes to your shortlist. Full scene text and PDF downloads require Pro.

The library contains excerpts for acting preparation, rather than complete film screenplays or full-length plays. Read the surrounding work where possible before choosing a piece for an audition.

Choose material you can work on today

For solo work, choose a monologue with a clear listener and an immediate need. For a scene with a partner, check that the excerpt gives both characters something to pursue. Agree on the circumstances before deciding how either person should react.

Read a few previews and save the strongest possibilities. Check the source requirements and time limit of your audition, then time a full read before learning the piece. A listed duration is an estimate, not a guarantee for your performance.

Try a free matching tool

Monologue Match helps you narrow the library using your brief. If you are working with a partner, the duologue catalogue includes a selected two-performer finder.

What does Pro add?

Pro gives you full scene text, PDF downloads, Director’s Notes and practice tools. Start by finding material that fits your needs, then compare the current plans and included allowances. Browsing filters and free matching tools do not require Pro.
